Help keep our adoptable cats and dogs happy, clean, and healthy! We continually need volunteers to help us clean out the kennels, change everyone's water, clean pet dishes, wash bedding, deep clean areas, clean up messes, scoop poop, and grooming dogs and cats. We don't require a lot of time commitments, we just want as much help as we can get.
Message us to sign up. You will then set up and complete a volunteer orientation which takes under 30 minutes. The first few times you volunteer, we make sure that someone is with you at the facility. Once you feel comfortable and understand the way things work, volunteers are encouraged to come help out whenever possible without needing to schedule certain times. We believe volunteers should be able to come in and help whenever they feel that they can.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue
Description
Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
