Help us by fostering a dog or cat just until they find a forever home! Supplies, medical care, and grooming is all provided by us!
Fostering a cat or dog helps us to rescue more animals by making space at our shelter. You do not need prior experience to foster a dog or cat, although it does help. One pet fostered means another that we can help save. We are always in need of fosters for shy animals, seniors, and young puppies and kittens if you're able to. If you're looking for an easygoing dog or cat to take care of for a little while, that's great too! Some pets will need fosters with more experience, but we welcome all people who are willing to help.
All necessary supplies (food, crates, beds, blankets, bowls, medicine, collar, leash, etc.) will be provided and fostering will only be needed until the animal finds a forever home, something that we work to do 24/7. If your foster dog/cat has a possible applicant, we can either pick up the foster or you could bring him/her to our shelter! Prior to bringing your foster home, all dogs and cats are vaccinated, dewormed, groomed, and treated against fleas and ticks. Before going to forever homes, dogs and cats are always spayed/neutered.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue
Description
Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
