Marks Community Outreach

Marks Community Outreach is looking for an experienced grant writer to locate and apply for new and existing grants with a different type of funding to help us support aiding the community. We need someone to find grants that are dedicated to the programs below.

New Beginning

A program geared towards the family. Services include: Family and individual counseling, tutoring, mentorship, financial guidance, transportation services.

Foot Soldiers

A 3-months program geared towards helping single men and women 18+ realize, plan, and achieve their goals.

Second Chance

This program is specially designated to troubled youth that want to turn their lives around. Targeting youth that are struggling to succeed due to chronic suspension, juvenile arrest, runaways, and drug addiction. Providing them with multiple mentors, counseling, tutoring, and extracurricular activities to help keep them engage in a much more constructive and positive way. Extracurricular activities include but not limited to music, art, sports, literary and OJT opportunities for those that are of age.

Higher Learners

High Ground is a program for overachieving youth that may need a little extra help in achieving their goal for a successful future. This program is geared towards school age children up to age 18 that excel and do well in school that may come from low-income and under-privileged families. We assist them with tutoring focusing on studies, counseling, financial advising, advising.

Little Buddies

This program is targeted to elementary students with a primary focus on mentorship through the buddy system allowing established women and men the opportunity to choose a little buddy to mentor.

Male Youth Development

This project is designed to effectively address the specific needs of boys and will assist them in transitioning from boyhood to manhood. Our goal is to decrease self-harming behaviors, delay or decrease rate of alcohol use, and increase their attachment to family, school, and community.

Female Youth Development

This project is designed to effectively address the specific needs of girls and our goal is to increase girls’ self-worth, body image, and social support. Our goal is to decrease self-harming behaviors, teenage pregnancy, delay or decrease the rate of alcohol use, and increase their attachment to family, school, and community.
