ORGANIZATION: Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is seeking a hardworking volunteer that has the skill and enthusiasm to install safety equipment in the homes of home-bound seniors. The volunteer will assess and complete the installation but more importantly, the volunteer will enhance the quality of life of home- care clients and better ensure their safety by reducing the risks of accidents before they can even occur.

Responsibilities and key deliverables
  • Install safety equipment such as non-slip shower & bathroom mats, CO2 detectors, traction pads for under carpets, etc.
  • Determine if professional assistance is needed instead
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Basic experience in home maintenance
Working conditions

The volunteer will serve in the home of the client.

Clearances required & training

This role requires a fingerprint clearance card if no LSS-SW staff is able to be present.

Location & timeframe

Client locations vary. Available volunteer shifts are flexible.
