Grief and Bereavement Support Groups (Porterville Area)

Grief is universal, everyone experiences it at some point and at times we need some support as we walk through our grief journey. Unfortunately there are not a lot of resources available in the community. As a result, Optimal Hospice has opened up our Grief Support Groups to the community free of charge. We want to expand the support that we offer not only to the loved ones of our patients but the community at large. In order to do this we are seeking qualified volunteers that would be interested in supporting the mission of providing support to grievers. This may include but is not limited to bereavement phone calls, mailers, facilitating a grief support group or working with our Kids Camp. As a volunteer you would work based on your availability and would be working with the Bereavement Program Staff in your local office as well as the Optimal Hospice Foundation. Training is provided to get you up to speed but experience and education is appreciated as well.
