ORGANIZATION: Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program

  • 3 people are interested

Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program needs volunteers to help with Intakes in our Food Pantry.

These Volunteers will greet clients, get appropriate paperwork signed, use our computer database to collect client and family information, and offer other resources for clients. Training is provided and required. Minimal comfort using a computer is also required.

Volunteers in the Food Pantry have the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people, supporting anywhere between 20-50 families during the shift. Volunteers must be comfortable working with different people, demonstrating respect and compassion while doing so.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Tuesdays 10:45-2:15 or 3:45-6:15
Wednesday 10:45-2:15
Friday 10:45-2:15
Saturday 11:45-3:15
Volunteers aren't required to work a certain number of shifts or frequency.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to directly help people in their community. Or individuals who want or need experience in social services. The Food Pantry is providing hungry people with access to healthy food, and by volunteering in Intake you'll be an integral part of the system.
