ORGANIZATION: California 4-H Youth Development Program

The 4-H Communications Director & Management Board Secretary is responsible for recording and distributing minutes of each meeting. The Secretary is also responsible for all correspondence of the board. The Secretary plays a critical role in supporting Directors, Management Board, 4-H Youth Development Program (YDP) staff, California 4-H Foundation, State 4-H Advisory Committees, and University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Program Teams and Workgroups in the development and dissemination of information within the program. The Secretary coordinates the efforts of the Communications Committee and any related ad-hoc committee(s).

The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program engages youth in reaching their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.

Description

The California 4-H youth development program is a part of the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), a statewide network of the University of California. UC ANR researchers and educators are dedicated to the creation, development and application of knowledge in agricultural, natural and human resources.

Led by research-driven programming from UC ANR, 4-H is a youth development organization for youth ages 5-19 that promotes hands-on, experiential learning. Youth members and adult volunteers from all backgrounds and locations in California are welcome. Members have the opportunity to participate in the 4-H program through afterschool programs and clubs, in-school clubs, SPIN (Special Interest) clubs, community clubs, camps, events, conferences, and military partnership programs.
