During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Alta Vista Botanical Gardens invites community members to partner with us in the Adopt-a-Garden Program. Individuals or groups can visit on a day and time that fits their schedule. They rake, weed, prune, and water, keeping the garden beautiful for public viewing.
Adopt-a-Gardners can choose select a special garden area to maintain and develop. We provide garden tools and any needed botanical education and training.
Gardeners are offered free admission to the garden, an invitation to our Cheers celebration.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

Alta Vista Gardens was established as a botanical garden for the education, enlightenment and inspiration of children, and the child within us all. It is a place to reflect, relax and recharge. The Gardens are a living, changing and interactive environment bringing together people, nature and art. It serves as a gathering place, an educational center, a forum for the arts and an exhibit of the most remarkable, beautiful and rare plants in the world.
Located at the top of Brengle Terrace Park in Vista, Alta Vista Botanical Gardens are 14 acres of designated gardens filled with noteworthy, beautiful and rare plants from around the world. Our garden themes include Australian, Jungle, Culinary and Medicinal Herb, Desert, Rare Fruit Forest, and the Labyrinth.
Integrated throughout the Garden are works of art created by local artists including Ricardo Becerra’s Serpent and Melissa Ralston’s The Blessings Tree. Also featured are walking trails, beautiful ponds, a cascading waterfall, shaded arbors and benches.
