Do you have extra Kindness and Compassion that you'd like to share....Become a Hospice Volunteer!
Volunteers are essential to the care provided by Willow Tree Hospice. Our hospice volunteers are men and women of all ages and backgrounds who have a few hours a week or a month to give to others. Whether it is reading to a patient, doing an activity, sharing a talent, or just providing an opportunity to share experiences.....volunteers make a difference in our patients' lives.
*The current COVID restrictions for patient visits has created new opportunities for hospice volunteers - 'volunteering from a distance' ie facetime, creating cards, phone calls, distance REIKI or pet window visits. We are all in this together seeking ways to support patients and families as only volunteers can!!
Volunteers work with the Willow Tree Hospice interdisciplinary team to help provide support to our patients and their families. Volunteers provide companionship visits to offer a hand to hold, a listening ear or simply a caring compassionate heart.
Willow Tree Hospice is dedicated to offering a full compliment of services to our patients and their families and volunteers are integral to that. Whether it's a special talent or modality that a volunteer has to share or the willingness to be present with a patient and learn the story of their life.
All volunteers receive one on one training before assignment to patients.
Our volunteer program is very flexible and is designed to work around the volunteer's life and current commitments.
We are certain that you will agree with our current volunteers: They GET much more than they GIVE.

Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatments, providing care, comfort and support for patients and their families. Hospice can be provided wherever the patient calls home, whether that is a family home, assisted living or even a long-term care facility.
Willow Tree Hospice is a local agency, founded by nurses and deeply rooted in the local community. Our hospice team is dedicated to making our patients comfortable and relieve their symptoms and pain for the entire length of their illness.
