Aloha,
WHO LOVES ICE-CREAM???
Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our mission is to enhance the lives of homeless keiki and help them escape their cycle of poverty.
We were chosen as this years Ben & Jerry's Free Ice Cream Scoop day charity. This honor is in part to the dedication of our awesome volunteers who continue to create award-winning programs that help our homeless children succeed!
We are seeking volunteers who would LOVE to scoop ice cream for a cause for 4 hours on Tues the 10th of April!! Yes, scooping ice cream can change lives thanks to the Ben & Jerry's event.
Volunteers main focus will be to scoop ice-cream, sell the waffle cones for charity and help people quickly choose their flavor as they learn about Project Hawai'i, Inc

Here's the SCOOP:

LOCATIONS:

Windward Shopping Mall and Ward Center

DATE: April 10th from 11a-10p (shifts below)

Volunteers needed
: 3-5 per shift per location and groups of 5 can sign up for same slots. Volunteers with minor children between 9-12 must be with adult and do not count towards the 5 volunteers. Teens can come alone. Groups with more than 5 must split shifts

SHIFTS:

11a-3p, 2:30p-6:30p, 6:00p-10p

SPECIAL VOLUNTEER NEEDED!! I need a volunteer coordinator for the entire time at the Ward Location. This duty will include greeting the volunteers as they arrive for their shift. Quickly orientate them on their position and duties and help organize volunteers as needed. Of course once all volunteers have their shirts and ready to start their shifts, you can take your break between each shift... but would need to be there until the end of the night.

To sign up please email me your information and t-shirt size. Project Hawaii is responsible for providing the t-shirts and therefore is asking a donation to help cover the costs from our volunteers. you can keep the souvenir t-shirt that show you care to help end the cycle of homelessness.

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
