Description:
St. Louis Confluence is a 501c(3) nonprofit, that curates TEDx events in this area. We are committed to creating an equitable and inclusive community of thought leaders by presenting great ideas coming from this region. Drawing a hugely diverse audience, TEDxGatewayArch events provide intentional, cross-pollinated networking opportunities that spark new perspectives of possibility throughout St. Louis.
Responsibilities:
Our speakers are our most important product. It is our responsibility to support them throughout the process of selection, preparation and delivery of a great TEDx talk. Once speakers are chosen they go through a multi-month process which includes training from COCA Biz and group training sessions. We also assign individual facilitators to coordinate with each speaker to help 'pull the story out’ of each speaker. We are looking for someone to help organize the facilitators and streamline the process.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist Director with communication to speakers and facilitators
Attends all Facilitator and Speaker meetings, workshops and practices
Assists with preparation for all meetings including communication, room prep, refreshments and A/V
Perks:
Our volunteers receive free tickets to our events and swag!
Skills and Qualifications:
Highly collaborative style with outstanding communication skills
Acute attention to detail with keen acumen in organization and time management
High energy, responsible individual with ability to work with a diverse group of facilitators and speakers
Resourceful, results oriented team player with a "can do" attitude
Proficient in use of G-Suite and Dropbox
Interested in collaborating with director to improve facilitating process and documentation

Mission Statement
Our mission is to Create a inclusive and equitable community of thought leaders in the St. Louis region. The TEDxGatewayArch chapter focuses on curating TED-oriented thought-leaders and topics thathave an intrinsic connection to the St. Louis region & may not be broadly known or understood my most St. Louisians. We provide the community with events, connections and ongoing information that will help them propel the St. Louis region to greater vibrancy and prosperity. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. Our community will build a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the region’s most inspired thinkers -- and a consortium of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, both online and at TEDx events all year long.
Description
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
