Road to Recovery Driver

About

The American Cancer Society is looking for a volunteer to support local cancer patients access transportation in the southwest suburbs! This volunteer opportunity is home-based and is flexible with your schedule.

The Road To Recovery Volunteer Coordinator monitors requests for Road To Recovery services in the greater Rockford area. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact the current base of volunteer drivers via phone to fulfill transportation requests needed to cancer treatments.The Volunteer Coordinator will also use an American Cancer Society created website to monitor transportation requests and volunteer lists.

The volunteer should feel comfortable utilizing the internet and making phone calls, building relationships with current volunteer base and being an advocate of the American Cancer Society. The volunteer will also be in regular communication with staff from the American Cancer Society.
