TASK AmeriCorps VISTA, Paid National Service Internship (1yr.)

Use your GAP YEAR to volunteer as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member. Kentucky Campus Compact TASK AmeriCorps*VISTA program has over 30 full-time positions available throughout the state of Kentucky focusing on education, economic opportunities, and healthy futures .

Complete one year of service working on indirect service activities including: recruit and train volunteers, research and evaluate trends, lead workshops, research broadband availability in rural Kentucky, expand college service learning programs, create wellness curriculum, lead health programs, manage online databases, lead mentoring programs, evaluate academic trends, assist in grant writing for programs, fundraise and more!

Benefits include:

  • MONTHLY LIVING ALLOWANCE of $945 per month ($11,328/year) before taxes
  • Upon completion, choose between EDUCATION AWARD ($5,920) ORCASH AWARD ($1,800).
  • Forbearance/deferment of federal student loans payments.
  • Eligible to receive HEALTHCARE ALLOWANCES
  • VACATION (10) and SICK DAYS (10)

Description

The Kentucky Campus Compact (KyCC) is a statewide coalition of Kentucky college and university presidents and their institutions, both public and private. KyCC was created in 2005 and opened its doors for operation in January, 2006. It is housed on the campus of Northern Kentucky University within the Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement. NKU is the fiscal agent for KyCC and provides payroll, accounting, human resource and IT services.
