Ark of Learning Volunteer Job Description

Position Overview

Ark of Learning Volunteers will assist the director in essential job functions including preparation for nightly and weekly programming, program promotion, and other administrative functions.

Essential Job Functions

• Help with program preparation including curriculum and resource organization
• Assistance in program promotion including informational phone calls, etc.
• Provide one-to-one tutoring with school aged youth
• Prepare pre-planned meals utilizing industrial kitchen equipment
• Help prepare the food to be served and assist with serving the food to everyone
• Aide with cleaning the kitchen and upstairs including washing dishes, mopping, sweeping, etc.

Non-essential Job Functions

• Offer feedback on design of promotional material including fliers and brochures
• Assist with copying other office related materials

Requirements

• Ability to multitask while on phone
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Publisher, and Excel desired but not required
• Must be able to provide own transportation to and from The Salvation Army
• Interpersonal communication skills

Other Skills/Abilities

• Cleaning and Maintenance of Supplies, Rooms, and Equipment
• Self-starter able to complete tasks from list with sometime minimal direct supervision
