Do you, or your church group, family, co-workers, or neighbors like to garden? Would you like to share your talents and time by adopting a flower bed or garden at one of our Catholic Charities locations? We have flower beds that need some TLC that you can provide on a weekly (or bi-weekly) yet flexible, schedule.

Staring in the spring, the beds may need some raking and cleaning out before new flowers and/or bushes are planted. During the summer, weekly weeding, trimming, and pruning are needed, and there are always other projects like window washing to do it your group is interested. In the fall, cleaning out the beds, and doing some raking before the snow falls would be great!

Some locations have flowers, or can provide them; however, if your group can provide some flowers, bushes, plants, etc. that is much appreciated.

Some locations have tools, but most do not, so please be aware you would likely need to bring your own lawn bags, rakes, spades, etc. (Especially if you are doing the work on an evening or weekend.) Also, please bring your own gloves.

This project is good for many ages, with supervised children encouraged. Your group can alternate so everyone only needs to come every other week - or whatever schedule you work out.
