The Spokane Times

Here is an opportunity for students or aspiring journalists to serve our community by conducting interviews of community interest and importance. We are an upstart news/media non-profit organization devoted to keeping our community well informed and educated. We do not attempt to compete with the main-stream media, but concentrate on the smaller stories usually involving the under privileged and causes that have no voice. We are not necessarily looking for experience, but a genuine desire to assist our target audience by presenting truthful and well documented information. Familiarity with audio/visual equipment and computers is desired, but not required. Ability to write articles and willingness to speak in public and/or appear in video documentaries preferred. These are volunteer positions without compensation;however, we have applied for IRS 501(c)(3) status and if we receive sufficient sponsorship we may consider hiring employees.
