BECOME A SILVERADO HOSPICE VOLUNTEER!

At Silverado Hospice, we hold sacred the end-of-life passage that is journeyed by our patients and their loved ones. Volunteers play an integral part in how we compassionately meet their needs.

As a Hospice Volunteer you will visit patients in their own homes, Silverado communities or other facilities. You will have the opportunity to offer support for all non-medical needs such as providing companionship and socialization, running errands and assisting with family needs. Are you willing to be a compassionate witness to those who are among the most vulnerable in our world, to hold their hands, to listen to their life stories? If so, please respond to this posting and begin your journey with Silverado Hospice as a Volunteer today!

Every patient is different but most requests are volunteers visiting patients during meal times (9am,12pm, and 5pm Monday -Sunday) and/or for 2-3 hours to run errands for patients. You and family/patient would coordinate your schedules.

WE RESPECTFULLY ONLY ASK FOR SERIOUS VOLUNTEER APPLICANTS. APPLICATION PROCESS CAN BE LENGTHY AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE OUR TIME AWAY FROM PATIENT CARE IS TO ENSURE MORE VISITS WITH PATIENTS IN THE LONG RUN.

Mission Statement

Monikers mission is to affirm the cycle of life by enhancing the quality of living for those at the end of life. The Silverado standard is to care compassionately for patients and their families and to empower those we serve to have quality of life options that afford them comfort and dignity.

Description

*We serve San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Alameda Counties*

Moniker Hospice honors the value of each life by empowering the patient and family to make supported choices in end-of-life care, enhancing comfort, relieving suffering and supporting effective grieving.

Moniker Hospice Bay Area is looking for the right person to volunteer with one of our hospice patients. The person that we are looking for is kind and patient and can spare an hour or two a week for between six months and a year. We will train you and support you through this journey and we will make every effort to match you with a patient where you get back from them as much as you are giving. We think people that are willing to volunteer are special and we do everything we can to provide you with a rewarding experience. If you have questions, send us an e-mail and our Volunteer Manager will e-mail or call.
