Do you have a knack for organizing things?

If so, you are needed at our Chrysalis center in Downtown Los Angeles! Beyond ongoing one-on-one services for our job-seeking clients, Chrysalis is in need of individuals who could help us keep our resource room in order. We provide professional clothing to our clients, so they don’t have to worry about finding adequate clothing when attending an interview. We get donations daily and are in need of extra hands to make sure our resource room or 'boutique’, as some of our volunteers like to call it, is looking good and in order for our clients to pick their outfits and prepare for successful job interviews. If you are interested and want to know more, please contact us at Volunteer@ChangeLives.org. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

About Chrysalis

522 S Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013, US

Mission Statement

Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment. Since 1984, Chrysalis has assisted over 51,000 men and women regain their dignity and becoming self-sufficient through employment opportunities. Chrysalis operates three centers that are located where homelessness and poverty are most pervasive: on Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and in the Pacoima area of the San Fernando Valley. Chrysalis' philosophy is that a steady job is the single most important step in a person's transition out of poverty and onto a pathway to long-term self-sufficiency. Through one-on-one Case Management, access to job-seeking resources and supportive services provided by volunteers, Chrysalis offers a hand up, rather than a hand out, to empower its clients to complete a self-directed job search.

Chrysalis assists homeless and low-income individuals in securing employment by providing a program of classes on job search skills, job search resources (including computers, phones, resume assistance, etc.), and one on one case management with an Employment Specialist.
