Do you have a knack for organizing things?
If so, you are needed at our Chrysalis center in Downtown Los Angeles! Beyond ongoing one-on-one services for our job-seeking clients, Chrysalis is in need of individuals who could help us keep our resource room in order. We provide professional clothing to our clients, so they don’t have to worry about finding adequate clothing when attending an interview. We get donations daily and are in need of extra hands to make sure our resource room or 'boutique’, as some of our volunteers like to call it, is looking good and in order for our clients to pick their outfits and prepare for successful job interviews. To create a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to prepare for, find, and retain employment.
Chrysalis volunteers play an integral role in our clients' success and provide direct services. They facilitate job readiness classes, provide support for filling out online job applications, organize our resource rooms, prepare resumes and help clients practice their interview skills. For ongoing volunteer opportunities, Chrysalis volunteers will be required to submit a brief online application, attend an informational session (held monthly at each site), receive training and ongoing evaluation, agree to confidentiality terms, and commit to 2 consecutive hours on a weekly or biweekly basis. Volunteer hours are between 8am-12pm or 1pm-4pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-12pm on Fridays.
