VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION
Our Youth Matter, Inc. (OYM) an Oakland-based 501 (c) 3 proudly celebrates its 10th Year Anniversary demonstrating love to youth in the community!
In recognition, OYM is partnering with the City of Oakland (City) Bushrod Recreation Center to host the Easter LOVE Experience, a community outreach event designed to connect with neighbors, restore community, spread hugs of LOVE, and celebrate all the joy the Spring season brings!
!! ELE is an alcohol and drug free event !!
VOLUNTEERS are critical to the success of OYM events.Without them, we wouldn't be able to host events of this magnitude, serving hundreds of children and their families throughout the year.
We’re currently seeking 100 VOLUNTEERS to fill a variety of roles. In exchange for your time and service, you will receive a full orientation prior to the event, a free meal, and more!
Roles Available:
Registration - Greet attendees as they arrive. Provide wristbands in exchange for completed registrations. Answer basic questions about the event.
Safety and Security - Monitor assigned areas and make sure event runs smoothly
Petting Zoo Helpers - Help vendor supervise kids as they interact with animals
Station/Area Helpers: Lead environment-friendly activities, games, arts and crafts, facepainting, poetry, and more
Greeters/Ask Me People - Answer questions, let people know where to go and what’s going on per itinerary, assist vendors
Guidelines
Positions are unpaid. Monetary compensation in exchange for participation will not occur.
An OYM representative will contact all volunteers once their registration is received to provide additional information regarding orientation and other need-to-know items.
Volunteers are needed the entire day from 8:15am - 4pm. If you will be unable to participate the entire day, please inform the OYM representative know when contacted.
Setup will begin at 8:30am.
Team debriefing will occur at 10:30am.
Breakdown will begin at 3:00pm
Free food, snacks, and beverages will be provided.
All Volunteers are asked to wear a plain white tees and blue jeans.

They arrive (preferably) at 11:00am or after
