Do you love the arts and socializing? Become an advocate for the Art Barn and help us promote the arts here in northwest Indiana and beyond. Come assist us grow our events and programs, communicate to the public about what the Art Barn has to offer, and deliver promotional materials to local businesses such as cafes, galleries, frame shops, tourist destinations, etc. These are just a few of the opportunities we need help with. Depending on each task, you may end up working at the Art Barn or sent out into the public. Help us encourage the arts within our communities!
Together we will accomplish the following:
- Curate content for bi-monthly newsletter
- Communicate with other art schools, galleries, and organizations as partners
- Help distribute marketing materials like flyers and mailings
- Entering information into database/spreadsheets
- Attending Art Barn and community events as an Art Barn representative
- Compile and research information for marketing lists
- Monitor customer responses to Art Barn events and programs
- Market and develop consumer products and services

Mission Statement
Located in a restored country barn on 69 acres of pastoral land, the Art Barn School of Art is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 1977. The Art Barn School of Art’s mission is to promote and conduct visual arts education classes and activities for children and adults in a unique, rural, creative environment. We strive to be a vital, community-based organization recognized as a quality forum for people to come together to celebrate art and nurture their artistic endeavors. As a part of this vision our volunteers work very hard to make the Art Barn a welcoming, all-inclusive place to grow and learn.
Description
The Art Barn School of Art offers many different opportunities for artists and the public to get involved in. As a rural center for the arts we are able to host a wide range of events and activities for all ages to enjoy! Our newest event of the year, the Art Blitz, is an interactive arts festival for the public to learn a new craft, watch artists demo, listen to live music, and a chance to purchase local artwork. We provide a place of gathering whether you want to hold a wedding, graduation party, or celebrate your child's birthday with our Arty Party. In the summer we host a series of workshops and art shows for children and adults. Weekly watercolor, acrylic and drawing classes are taught by our critically acclaimed instructors to every age group and all skill levels.
