Super Stars Literacy is a nonprofit literacy organization in Oakland, CA. We work with students from kindergarten to 2nd grade in under-resourced communities. We provide our schools with daytime intervention and an after-school program. Our after school program runs generally from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. We in total provide students involved with Super Stars Literacy with an extra 22 hours of literacy support.
This year we are located at 5 different school sites in Oakland, CA. They are as follows
Bridges Academy at Melrose Elementary
Aspire Monarch Academy
Aspire Triumph Technology Academy
We are currently looking for volunteers for all of our school sites! We work around school and work schedules. Our tutors are able to come any day of the week between 4 pm and 6 pm. We typically like our volunteers to make a commitment of at least one hour a week, for four months, but we are very flexible.
This is a great opportunity to work with children and to help give back to a community. Also, this is a great way to fulfil high school or college volunteering requirements.
