The Plant Exchange is a community organization that encourages resource sharing, reuse and recycling. Our annual free Plant Exchange event brings over 1000 community members together, and throughout the year, we host several events that support Oakland’s designation as one of the greenest cities in the country.
Our next plant exchange is Saturday, March 23rd, at 4500 Lincoln Ave. If you have time to help out before, during, or after the event, we want to hear from you.
Here's where we need help:
- Putting posters and flyers in store windows
- Picking up and/or helping unload plant donations at the warehouse
- Repotting donations and painting signs
- The day before: re-pot donations, set up temporary fencing, layout traffic cones, and set up canopies on Friday, March 22, from 4-7pm
- The day-of: your choice of shifts: 8a-11am, 11am-3pm, and 3-6pm. See position descriptions and sign up online at www.theplantexchange.org or email us at volunteer -AT- theplantexchange.com
- The day-after: 90 minutes to finish tidying up
