Amplify Decatur Music Festival

The Amplify Decatur Music Festival returns for its fourth year to the downtown Decatur Square on Saturday, April 13, 2019, featuring the incomparable Mavis Staples, Jeff Tweedy, Julien Baker, Kevn Kinney, and The Bitteroots.

All funds raised at the annual outdoor music festival will be directed to Decatur Cooperative-Ministry (DCM) to support its efforts to prevent and alleviate homelessness in Decatur and DeKalb County. The 2017 and 2018 concerts each raised $40,000 for DCM.

All volunteers will receive free admission to the festival. Shifts are approximately four hours long. We have the greatest need for late evening shifts as those will include the breakdown of the venue (tents, chairs, tables, etc.).

You can find a description of the volunteer opportunities, shifts and sign-up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0845a4af2dabfe3-2019

Mission Statement

Amplify gives every dollar raised at our concerts to community organizations fighting poverty. This allows our beneficiaries to do what they do best, including feeding, clothing, and housing people in need-instead of spending their valuable time throwing fundraisers. This way, each of us focus on what we do best. So, how does Amplify stay in business, hire bands, and spread the word about our mission? We do it through the generous support of people like you. Your volunteer time and contributions sustain our organization and make our concerts possible, which in turn produce awareness and resources for the heroes in your hometown. It’s truly an investment in your community, and one you can be proud of. Amplify My Community is an IRS approved 501(c)(3)

Description

We are incredibly proud of all the nonprofits we support in all of the cities we have worked. We wish we could support a thousand more. Decatur is our hometown, and here we work with Decatur Cooperative Ministry.

Decatur Cooperative Ministry

Our hometown charity, we’ve supported DCM since 2011 and have donated over $150,000 to support their work providing emergency shelter to women and children, providing temporary housing to families, and helping households with emergency bill assistance. The 2017 Decatur Music Festival helped us raise $40,000 for DCM.
