EMAA has offices in eight counties, with volunteer opportunities available at all locations.

Board Membership - Community members are needed to sit on EMAA’s & SEED$ Board of
Directors.
Various Committee Members - Community members are needed to assist with various program
committees. Memberships vary, please contact EMAA for current vacancies.
Cleaning/Janitorial - General office cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning
bathrooms in various offices.
Head Start Cook Aide - Assist staff in cooking and cleaning at Head Start Sites.
Head Start Assistant Teacher - Assist teachers in classrooms and ensure that the needs of the
children are met.
General Office Help - Answer phones, greet clients, answer questions, make copies and filing
(computer skills are a plus, but not required).
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) including MO-PTC prep- Greeters, interviewers, IRS certified tax preparers and quality
reviewers
REALL Simulations (Reality Enrichment and Life Lessons) - A simulation for high-school aged
youth that is designed to make them think about how choices and decisions made in adolescence
may have good or bad consequences in adulthood.
Poverty Simulations - a program designed to increase the understanding of the day-to-day
realities of poverty.
Budgeting Class Instructors - Presenters/instructors for budgeting classes.
Homeownership Class Instructors - Presenters/instructors for homeownership classes.
Summer Food Site Activities - Conduct activities and help serve lunches to children during the
summer months.
Step Up To Leadership Mini-Grant Committee Members - Community members are needed
to review mini-grant applications, and determine eligibility for funding.
Step Up To Leadership Class Guest Speakers - Classes designed to teach low-income
participants about board responsibilities, running community meetings or committees, public
speaking, parliamentary procedure, conflict resolution, etc.
Greenhouse Workers - Assist staff in the daily workings of the agency’s hydroponic greenhouse.
Money Smart for Small Business Instructors - Business and financial professionals needed to
help conduct free classes to budding entrepreneurs, providing them with the information needed
to create and operate a small business
