April is Parkinson's Awareness Month, and we are celebrating in a big way by announcing 2019 MORE TALK! MORE WALK! 2-mile fundraiser walk. a family-friendly event on Saturday, May 4 at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale. Don't wait another minute to sign-up!

Bring your family and friends to this event which is open to all ages and abilities. Participants can sign up for a 2-mile Walk! Come enjoy music, food and learn more about the exciting breakthroughs occurring in our Parkinson's research aimed to close the gap between science and practical care.

Volunteer Hours: Saturday, May 4, from 6:00am - 2:00pm (shifts available)

Set up: 6:00am - 9:00am
Parking lot assistance: 7:30am - 10:30am
Kids corner: 8:30am - 12:00pm
Breakfast booth: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Course monitors / Cheering walkers: 9:30am - 12:00pm
Trash/Recycling bins replacement: 8:00am - 2:00pm
Clean up: 12:00pm - 2:00pm

Mission Statement

To seek the cause(s) and find a cure for Parkinson's disease; to provide the best available medical care to patients with movement disorders; to investigate new and more effective diagnostic and treatment methods; and to develop prevention strategies.

Description

The Parkinson's Institute Movement Disorders Research and Treatment Center was established in 1988 as an independent, not-for-profit organization conducting patient care and research activities in the neurological speciality of movement disorders. The Institute is dedicated to furthering the knowledge of Parkinson's disease and related disorders, as well as treating patients (and families) afflicted with these diseases. Funding is obtained from government grants, private giving, research contracts, and patient fees.
