Position: Grant Writer

This is an unpaid (but, priceless), remote, volunteer position with flexible hours for an individual or internship position. Benefits include:

    • A rewarding experience by helping vulnerable pediatric children and their families
    • Working with a committed, passionate team (we love us, and so will you!)
    • Gain hands-on nonprofit experience, (a great resume builder opportunity)

Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

STCC is looking for a bright and enthusiastic person to take on the lead role of Grant Writing to raise funds for our nonprofit. We have already identified several key grant opportunities that we would like to apply to, both locally in the Washington state area as well as nationally. Likewise, we’ve completed a needs assessment literature review which details the added benefits and need for our app within the cancer community. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the grant application process and tailor each opportunity accordingly.

This position will provide someone with experience in nonprofit development and grant writing. As STCC is a small charity, this person can expect to experience all areas of our work and gain a good understanding of all elements of the charity.

Qualifications: We are seeking a motivated and responsible individual looking to gain grant writing experience working with a nonprofit. We require you to have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in our mission and have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. A potential intern should be comfortable working independently, but also working with a team and a supervisor.

Mission Statement

We forge connections and build relationships among families affected by pediatric cancer using smart technology, national partnerships, and focused research.

Description

Sweet Tea Cancer Connections (STCC), is building the first ever, nonprofit, healthcare mobile app which will help connect parents affected by Pediatric Cancer. Parents in the pediatric community can find hope, knowledge and empowerment through relationships with families on similar paths. Our app will allow parents to find others whose children have similar diagnoses, who are in the same treatment phase, and who are even in the hospital at the same time. By directly connecting parents who understand each other’s experiences, they will know they are not alone.
