The Salvation Army Public Relations Office in Winnipeg hosts three fundraising events a year. Each event focuses on raising funds to alleviate the effects of poverty in our community and on raising awareness of some of the challenges families face on a daily basis.
Where we need your assistance -
These events are made possible thanks to the efforts of an outstanding Special Events Committee. The Committee Members lend their time, expertise and enthusiasm in helping to promote the events, recruit participants, encourage participant fundraising and ensure we meet our goal of raising $100,000.
The Salvation Army is currently recruiting new volunteer Special Events Committee Members for our 2018 & 2019 events: Salvation Army Golf Classic Tournament, Hope in the City Event and Santa Shuffle fun family 5kRun/1K Walk. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, sociable, and are enthusiastic about creating successful events and working towards alleviating the effects of poverty in our community. Our ideal candidate has a social network that can be engaged as event participants, donors & sponsors. We do not require fundraising experience but a willingness to 'make the ask’ is.
