Make a difference this year! Help refugee youth in their summer school program. This is a wonderful opportunity if you’re building your resume for jobs in education, nonprofits, and international work.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity to you, then please join us. We would love to have you on board, and we will gladly give you a letter of recommendation to include in your resume package.

Great internship opportunity for those interested in working with people of color, at-risk youth, and low-income youth or those interested in nonprofit work like program management and volunteer coordination.

The summer school coordinator does volunteer coordination, program management, and serves as the liason between the Catholic Charities employee and the teachers and classroom helpers. This role also entails coordinating fieldtrips and making sure teachers have all the materials they need for their lessons. You also get to participate! Which means you are required to go on all field trips and help out with lessons if teachers need an extra set of hands.

You will start June 12th and finish August 2nd. You will need to be in all summer school sessions. Sessions are from 9:00am -12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm. Elementary students meet for the morning session and middle school students meet in the afternoon session. Plan on working 8 hour days when classes have started and committing a 2-3 hours a couple days a week before and after.
