Have you ever considered being an animal foster parent? Fostering is for young kittens and puppies that are too small to be adopted yet, or for a pet recovering from an illness or injury. As a foster parent, you bring a pet into your home and provide them with love and care until they are ready to go up for adoption. There is no necessary background or experience level required - just a love for animals!
As a foster parent, we will reach out with animals in need of homes and you decide if it is a good fit for you timing wise. Lengths of stay generally range from 2 weeks to 2 months. If you have any questions, reach out to foster coordinator, kmerjil@auroragov.org.

Description
The Aurora Animal Shelter has been serving the citizens of Aurora since 1950s. The shelter was originally created to help control the rabies epidemic in Colorado by enforcing the state laws requiring pet owners to vaccinate their dogs and cats against rabies, a potentially fatal disease transmitted from animals to people.
Since then we have grown to a full-service, open-admission animal shelter committed to protecting the animals of Aurora by providing shelter and care to any animal that comes to us.
