FUTURO is a mentoring program that supports and guides Latino high school students in their pursuit of higher education - most of them will be the first in their families to break the cycle of poverty and attend college. The program is open to first and second generation immigrants living in the City of Trenton that are in their Junior year of high school. The program mentors and tutors the students until HS graduation and follows up with an alumni network.
To ensure the students will be able to keep up their grades (and therefore qualify for financial aid to help pay for college), we require that they attend weekly tutoring. We currently need volunteers to assist with the core academic class (English, Math, Sciences, and History). We also work to prepare the students for standardized testing such as the ACT and SAT.
Tutoring is on Wednesdays evenings, 6pm-8pm at the Princeton Presbyterian Church.
