Volunteers (working members) work in the Friends 'library' section to sort donated books and stock shelves. Every volunteer 'owns' a section of the library and is responsible for maintaining/updating with the latest featured books.
Working members participate in fundraising activities including monthly book sales, craft and vendor fairs, Holiday Cookie sale and hanging posters and signs around local businesses. Working members attend one meeting a month to discuss activities and ideas for improving fundraising activities.

Mission Statement
The Friends of the Beekman Library is an organization whose purpose it is to raise funds for library programs and services. We are an important fundraising source and advocate for the Beekman Library and to promote use of the library to members of the community it serves.
Description
The Friends of the Beekman Library is a group of dedicated volunteers who work to sponsor fundraising events designed to raise and contribute funds to the library. Fundraising activities include monthly book sales, Spring Craft Fair, gift basket raffles, Fall Vendor Fair, Holiday Cookie Sale and Membership Drive.
