Interfaith Works Connections Program Description

Interfaith Works Connections links low-income residents of Montgomery County to the resources they need. The Resource Coordinators of this unique initiative, bilingual in English and Spanish, meet with Interfaith Works Clothing Center customers to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment, gather information to make referrals to appropriate partner providers, and educate clients about available assistance. Referrals are made to many types of services, including food, vocational services, English/literacy classes, furniture and behavioral health. Interfaith Works Connections also works with neighbors in financial crisis to provide a safety net and prevent evictions and utility cutoffs.

IW Connections Volunteer Opportunity Description

Interfaith Works Connections seeks a volunteer to call clients to verify they followed through on referrals, input results in an Excel spreadsheet, file documents and other administrative tasks. Candidates must be available sometime between 8:30am and 4:30pm on weekdays (Monday through Friday). We prefer candidates who are able to come in once a week for a minimum of 3 hours. Candidates must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and have good phone skills. Every volunteer is required to complete an application, a brief interview and a background check prior to being assigned to this opportunity.
