A healthy lifestyle is best developed as kids. We at Alleycat Acres are passionate about educating the future generation on our food and the environment. Children between the age group of 2 to 12 years will learn seed to plate curriculum while having fun in the garden.
We are looking for volunteers to be a part of this journey with us. After receiving training, volunteers will engage with children, teach them garden expectations, and be a part of the learning process. You'll meet people from diverse backgrounds, network with your community, and take home organic produce.
Qualifications:
- Be available to attend garden hours Thursday evenings from approx 4-7
- Contribute 1 to 3 hours a week
- Love the outdoors and spending time with kids
- Be curious to learn about gardening and how healthy food impacts our well-being
To Apply: Please send a brief cover letter detailing your relevant experience and a resume to hello@alleycat-acres.org.

About Alleycat Acres
Location:
309 Pontius Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109, US
Mission Statement
Alleycat Acres reconnects people, place, and produce by transforming underutilized space into a network of neighborhood run farms.
Description
In other words, we make farms happen. Food is more than what we eat: it’s a medium through which we can forge intimate, meaningful relationships between people and place. Farming is a medium that reconnects us, both mentally and physically, to our surroundings. Our entire operation is based on the collective belief that urban food systems are key in creating healthy communities.
Our produce is distributed between our volunteers who worked for the day and a network of agency partners including Food Banks, Supportive Housing, Shelters, and Recovery service providers. Join us at one of our weekly work parties at any of our four farms. All ages and abilities are welcome - our farm coordinators will be on site to walk you through tasks and teach you everything they know about urban gardening!
