Calling all high school sophomores and juniors looking for community service hours!
(Volunteer experiences are not exclusively at our office at the address listed. Volunteer coordinator will work with volunteer to place them at a facility close to their home.)
Caris Healthcare of Nashville is currently seeking high school sophomores and juniors that are interested in volunteering with patients receiving end of life care in Davidson and/or Williamson Counties. The experience is incredibly unique as it can be tailored to your individual interest with a flexible monthly time commitment spanning over the summer and/or school year.
Volunteers hours will be tracked and can be reported to schools. Letters of recommendations can be provided to volunteers that provide 30+ hours.
Our volunteers can help in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
-Working with after school programs to create special projects (crafts) to provide patients
-Decorating patients' rooms
-Assisting nursing facilities with activities (running Bingo, nail painting, movie nights)
-Cookie baking
-Office support
-Providing companionship
-Fellowship
This volunteer experience can be done with friends or individually.
Requirements:
-6 hours per month (These can be done all at once or spread out throughout the entire month.)
OR
-24 hours per month (Summer only volunteers)
-16 years of age
-Pass drug test (paid for by Caris)
-2 Hour Orientation and training
-Desire to improve the quality of life of critically ill patients
-Responsible and reliable

Description
