Alma is an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy game designed to help individuals with autism effectively learn social, sensory, and motor skills. The game features fun challenges and instruction through six levels and corresponding levels, each providing a visual learning experience for tasks such as tying shoes, washing hair, and preparing for school. Alma is the main character of the game through which the player will complete the various levels.

3D Modeler

We're currently looking for 3D modelers to create high-poly and potentially low-poly 3D models that will be used in game. These assets include the main character, a toothbrush, shoes, and a bicycle to name only a few. A huge plus if you're familiar with the Unity game engine as we'll be working with the models within it.

Responsibilities

  • Create and Rig high-poly 3D models for import into the Unity game engine
  • Modify 3D models as necessary for proper game integration

Desired Skills

If you have the following skills, we would love to hear from you:

  • Experience creating and rigging 3D models through Blender or similar 3D creation software
  • Experience working with 3D models within the Unity game engine
  • Able to collaborate with game developers and overall project team as needed
  • Basic knowledge of animation

About The Buddy Project, Inc.

Location:

2107 Chestnut Lane, Frederick, MD 21702, US

Mission Statement

The Buddy Project is an organization that provides technology , training, and advocacy to the disabled.

Description

The Buddy Project is the only nonprofit technology organization for the disabled in Maryland, and has already served more than 130 individuals since its founding. The Buddy Project provides refurbished computers to those who are intellectually and developmentally disabled. These computers are not to be used as a family computer and are set up specifically for people with disabilities. The Buddy Project is an increasingly vital part of the disabled community and plans to be an important advocate and educational resource to the general public about disabled individuals. In fact, this is a dire need in the disabled community due to the misconception that disabled people cannot learn to use technology.

Once the client receives the refurbished computer, there is a training curriculum that is covered with each and every client to help them better understand their computer and how they work. We work with the client for as long as he or she is a part of The Buddy Project. Eventually the client will be assigned a Program Manager that will work with him/her on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Furthermore, all computers are maintained by The Buddy Project and are switched out about every two years in order to allow the client the best technology experience possible.
