Kitchen Helper- Saturdays

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Our House of Portland

If helping to host a large dinner party is your idea of fun, then have we got an opportunity for some real fun for you! Our House of Portland needs kitchen helpers!

Our House is a long-term care facility for people with HIV/AIDS. We serve three meals a day to our residents and staff. Each shift has a cook and 1-3 helpers. While the cook gets the meal prepared, the shift helpers sometimes assist with prep, set the table/serve residents meals and keep track of the dishes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to build community, get to know new people and play games! You typically have plenty of time to engage with our residents, as well as work in the kitchen. We have three shifts available:

Saturday:

Breakfast Helper - 8am - 11am
Lunch Helper - 11am - 3pm
Dinner Helper -4pm - 7pm (this shift is more flexible for arrival time)

MANDATORY COVID VACCINE REQIREMENTS:
In furtherance of our efforts to protect the health and safety of our clients, residents, staff and volunteers and in accordance with public health guidance Our House of Portland is requiring all volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 15, 2021. According to the CDC, people are considered to be fully vaccinated:

  • Two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, e.g., the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or

Two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, e.g., Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine

Proof of vaccination record will be required prior to first volunteer shift.

*All of these positions are ideally weekly, but we are happy to work with your schedule!
