ORGANIZATION: Child's Voice School

Child's Voice, a non-profit in the Roscoe Village neighborhood, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak. We are looking for a volunteer to help us on a Tuesday or Thursday on a weekly basis from 8:00am to 12:00pm to assist in the following: making lesson materials, setting up classroom prior to toddler class, cleaning up after toddler class, cleaning/disinfecting toys, tracking inventory, scanning paperwork, making copies, decorating bulletin boards and taking pictures of classroom activities.

Child's Voice mission is to empower children who are deaf and hard of hearing to be successful in all educational and social settings by optimizing their listening, speaking and academic skills.

Description

Child's Voice is an oral deaf communication school, teaching children who have cochlear implants or wear hearing aids to learn to speak. Children range in age from birth to 7 years of age and then mainstream into their school district classes.
