Saturday, September 14, 2019, 3:00-4:00pm

VOLUNTEER DUTIES

Under general supervision:

  1. Sorts and shelves books and other library materials.
  2. Reviews shelves for correct filing, makes necessary filing corrections and moves books and other materials as space needs require.
  3. Checks books and materials for needed repair.
  4. Refers patrons to appropriate library staff for assistance.
  5. Assists in a variety of assigned special projects and services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluent in English;
  • Age 14 or older;
  • Able to follow oral and written directions;
  • Ability to alphabetize and file in numerical order;
  • Able to volunteer at least one (1) day a week for two (2) hours;
  • Able to volunteer for at least 3 months.

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
