ORGANIZATION: Dreams for Schools

students

Hello! Thank you for considering volunteering with Dreams for Schools!

We recruit college undergraduates from UC Irvine & Cal State Fullerton to mentor and teach middle school students around Orange County how to make mobile game apps over 10 weeks. At the end of this process, we host a showcase where all the students in our program come together to present their apps and compete for prizes.

Typically there are over 250 attendees at the event which, in addition to parents, includes school board members, community partners, and congressional representatives. (Check out our 2017 Showcase here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jjnLuvKGhU)

We are desperately in need of capable volunteers who will help us put on an amazing showcase for our mentors and students! At this event, we will need volunteers to:

-Set up the event
-Manage the Catering Buffet
-Check in and register our guests
-Coordinate and facilitate schools and teams with taking photos, getting food, changing, etc
-Check in supplies
-Clean up after the event

Dinner will be provided. Any length of time you can commit to our event will be extremely appreciated. Thank you!
