Board position opening
Rakhma Homes Inc. has two openings on its Board of Directors
Rakhma has 4 memory care homes in the Twin Cities. We offer a social model to our residents that is NOT a facility, while utilizing medical support and excellent caregiving and activities staff. Our families are a very important part of our care model and we strive to offer them the support and information they also need in navigating the dementia diagnosis with their loved one.
Our Board currently consists of 9 positions - each has a 3 year term that can extend for a second term. We meet every other month in the evening. Expectations of Board members are ability to attend regular board meetings and serve on at least one committee that usually meets every other month as well. Also expected is attendance at two yearly events for residents/families, some monetary contribution, and willingness for hands-on volunteering as the occasional need may arise.
A strong or personal interest in dementia care along with professional expertise in the finance, development, business, legal and medical fields (to name a few) are great qualifications. At this time, we are particularly interested in someone with an accounting background for one Board position.
Please submit resumes to Karen Ekberg, Board Chair

Description
Rakhma Inc. has 4 residential homes in the Twin Cities area. Each home have a capacity of 10-15 residents.
Rakhma is not "a home"; rather, it is home, where friends sing together, take walks together, and forgive repeated stories. At Rakhma, families and friends are invited to drop in for a visit and all are encouraged to participate in the daily activities of the house: watering plants, peeling potatoes, folding towels, or simply enjoying the company of others.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer at Rakhma Homes.
