ORGANIZATION: Seton Center, Inc.

Goal: Assist in the daily operations of the Seton Family Store. Provide customer service through positive interactions with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Sorting, cleaning, pricing, storage and handling of clothing, household goods and miscellaneous items.
  • Assist in researching and pricing vintage and high-end clothing and merchandise on the internet.
  • Responsible to help with overall arrangement, cleanliness and appearance of store at all times.
  • Assist with opening and closing Store and register on days assigned.
  • Promote Seton Center’s sales and promotions.
  • Restock inventory as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manage.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Volunteer should be a team player and enjoy volunteering independently.
  • Ability to operate a calculator, electronic cash register and credit card machine.
  • Ability to follow cash management procedures for sales, debit, credit & gift cards and vouchers.
  • Knowledge of basic math processes Knowledge of current and vintage fashion trends and styles.

Description

Seton Center, Inc. is a social service organization in northern Frederick County MD. We provide financial assistance for mortgage, rent, utility, clothing and medical expenses. We also offer the Seton Family Store (thrift shop), and case management, programs and services to guide and support client growth in the areas of life skills such as literacy, financial and health management.

We serve those living at the federal poverty AND/OR the ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) rate; those working for wages that do not support even the basic living expenses. We believe that each person is unique and should be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of race, creed or financial status.
