Event Description:
Special Olympics Florida - Miami-Dade County will host Camp Shriver at Moore Park during Spring Break from Monday, March 25th - Friday, March 29th.
This Spring Break Camp, Special Olympics Florida will offer for children ages 8-14 living in Liberty City with and without intellectual disabilities, a chance to go to camp free of charge.
Volunteer Role: Volunteers are needed to support the Camp Staff. Campers will participate in sports activities such as Tennis, Soccer, Softball & Flag Football. They will also enjoy field trips, arts & crafts, yoga and more! Volunteers will work closely with campers to provide a fun and safe camp experience.
Volunteer Requirements: All volunteers must complete the following requirements.
- Complete a Class B Volunteer Form
- Commit to at least 1 full day of camp from 8:30am-4:30pm
- Any volunteers under the age of 15 need a parent/guardian to attend with them.
Volunteers will receive:
- Special Olympics T-Shirt
- Free Lunch
- A record of community service hours

The ultimate goal of Special Olympics is to help persons with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
