The C&O Canal Trust would like to invite you to the 11 th annual Canal Pride Days event in Washington County. Canal Pride Days are the C&O Canal National Historical Park’s largest volunteer stewardship events of the year, engaging volunteers from across the state in stewardship projects to restore and revitalize the Park’s natural, cultural, and recreational community resources.
Please join us for our Canal Pride Days event, scheduled for Saturday, April 28 th, 2018 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Hancock Visitor Center, located at 439 East Main Street, Hancock, MD.
During our event, volunteers will take part in beautification and preservation projects, including painting picnic tables, preserving historic structures, removing invasive plant species, and more to help improve Hancock Visitor Center and the nearby Little Tonoloway campground for all to enjoy. The C&O Canal Trust is the official, nonprofit partner founded to protect, restore, and promote the C&O Canal National Historical Park. The Trust pursues its mission through a combination of fundraising, volunteerism, community outreach and education, and hands-on restoration. By working in partnership with the National Park Service, the Trust seeks to ensure that the Park’s natural, historic, and recreational potential is fully realized.
