Join READ WRITE DISCOVER's quest to help children improve their literacy skills and to build confidence in their reading and writing skills. This program is so much more than improving children's academic skills, it's about you making meaningful relationships with your students and other tutors!

Mission Statement

Read Write Discover is a volunteer and student-led tutoring program whose mission is to create equitable literacy opportunities for K-8th grade learners by empowering young leaders to make a change in their communities. RWD's work is grounded in equity and youth leadership. We strongly encourage people of color, especially those who identify as black or brown, LGBTQ+, or identify with other marginalized communities, to apply and join our leadership team.

Read Write Discover is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that partners with libraries to host free summer tutoring opportunities for K-8th grade students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
