Volunteer opportunity for experienced instructor to lead family or children’s activity at a Community Day on April 6, 2018. You can choose the activity! Some ideas include yoga, dance, arts and crafts, "sidewalk chalk" art, face painting, balloon art, sports or gardening. Expect to lead a small group of 5 to 12 people. You are welcome to lead an activity geared towards a specific age group. All activities will be held outside.
The Community Day is on Friday April 6 from 11AM to 4PM. We prefer activities to be held from 2 to 4 PM but can accommodate your schedule. We ask that you spend at least one hour leading activities at the Community Day. You do not have to attend for the full day. The Community Day is at an affordable housing community in southwest Atlanta called Oakland City West End Apartments. The address is 1191 Oakland Ln SW Atlanta, GA 30310.
The Community Day will be attended by local government agencies, nonprofits, community leaders and other residents of the local community. We will have food, raffle prizes and (with your help) family activities. The goal of the Community Day is to foster a greater sense of community among residents and to promote social programs and services available to them.
Other Logistical Details: Chisom most likely cannot provide supplies for the project. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations we receive are 100% tax-deductible. We can promptly issue you an official letter recognizing your donation for your tax purposes.

Description
Chisom was founded in 2003 to develop and invest in affordable housing communities where seniors, people with disabilities and those earning low to very low incomes could find a safe, clean and welcoming place to live. The founders resolved to develop social service programs to support and assist residents with their needs in the areas of education, healthcare, wellness and professional skills.
Chisom preserves at-risk affordable housing nationwide and is an owner and operator of over 1,200 units of low-income housing at 17 properties in 10 states. Our portfolio ranges from the suburban plains of Hutchinson, Kansas to the border town of Donna, Texas. We have preserved housing in inner-city Atlanta, GA as well as the rural corners of Walterboro, SC.
