Cedar Hill, the home of Frederick Douglass

The Frederick Douglass National Historic Site is seeking volunteers to assist with our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the grounds of Frederick Douglass's home. Planned activities include house tours, hands-on children activities, and outdoor family activities.

Volunteers will be needed between 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. All volunteers will check in at 8:00 AM and the event will start at 10:00 am. Volunteers will assist event set up, visitor services, organizing groups, crafts, games, and family activities. National Park Service staff will be available to train volunteers and direct all event activities during the event.

The mission/ purpose of the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site (NHS) is to collect, preserve, and interpret the house, museum collections, and the grounds in accordance with the site’s enabling legislation, planning documents, and legal mandates from the enlightenment and education and recreation of today’s visitors and tomorrow’s visitors.

Description

National Park System comprises 401 areas called "units" covering more than 84 million acres in 49 States, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Saipan, and the Virgin Islands. These units include national parks, monuments, battlefields, military parks, historical parks, historic sites, lakeshores, recreation areas, scenic rivers and trails, and the White House.
