Urban Surf 4 Kids is a 501c3 non profit based in Daytona Beach & San Diego, Ca. Our program empowers foster youth and children in need through recurring water therapy sessions, community service projects and mentoring partnerships.
Imagine as a child suffering abuse at the hands of your parents, the confusion of being abandoned as you shuffle through the foster care system, the feeling of hopelessness and the ability to just "be a kid" slipping away. That's the reality for approximately 500,000 children today who are in the foster care system.
Our work was recently featured in a national commercial campaign with Brawny. It can be viewed on our homepage.
Program is nearly a tipping point, we desire to scale our program to impact children in need on a global level.
We are currently seeking highly skilled volunteer coordinator's, business development, fundraising specialist and CEO/CFO.

Description
Imagine as a child suffering abuse at the hands of your parents, the confusion of being abandoned as you shuffle through the foster care system, the feeling of hopelessness and the ability to just "be a kid" slipping away. That's the reality for approximately 500,000 children today who are in the foster care system. Urban Surf 4 Kids since 2009 has provided the power of surf therapy completely free of charge for foster youth. Our model provides consistent recurring water based events, Hanai mentoring and community service projects to give back. The result? Kids who are at risk for being forever branded "underprivileged", instead, become empowered. Foster youth who age out of the "system" have an estimated cost of over $300,000 to our society. Urban Surf 4 Kids is committed to turning the tide and "investing" into these youth. Since 2009 we have had the absolute joy of serving more than 5,000 youth in 4 states and 2 countries! We are striving to drop into the biggest wave of all: Ability to impact children in all 50 states! Our program is experiencing amazing results, however in order to scale our program, we need your help! Join our Ohana, as we are catching waves and changing lives!
