Our pet therapy program is called Helping Paws. The Helping Paws program gives patients and families the opportunity to interact safely with dogs and receive their unconditional love and acceptance in the hopes of making the hospital environment more comfortable and less stressful.
We are looking for certified therapy dogs and their handlers to visit patient in the inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting. Volunteers will help patients reconnect with the world through the affection of pets by providing comfort and interaction in scheduled individual and group settings.
Days and times are flexible (generally between 8am-6pm), but we are looking for volunteers who can commit to regularly scheduled visits (weekly, biweekly, or monthly).
