Public Art Reston is seeking skilled volunteers to join its Public Art Committee. The Public Art Committee provides oversight of both civic and private developer projects and ensures that knowledgeable artistic expertise is brought to bear on the review of public art projects, including artist selections, and artist concepts. The Public Art Committee is a committee of Public Art Reston that provides guidance regarding aesthetic decisions for specific projects and initiatives. The Committee is comprised of up to nine at-large members of the community. Candidates will have a background in the visual arts, public art, design, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or structural engineering and will serve up to two three-year terms. The Public Art Committee meets six to seven times a year usually on Fridays from 12pm-2pm and once per year on a Wednesday from 2pm-5pm.

Description
Public Art Reston works with community organizations and developers to commission permanent and temporary public art in Reston. Public Art Reston was founded in 2007 and is the first unincorporated community in the United States to have adopted a public art master plan - the "Public Art Master Plan for Reston". Public Art Reston also offers artists talks, documentary public art film screenings, community engagement activities.
