Mission Statement
Batala Philadelphia’s mission is to enrich and inspire our communities by providing an Afro-Brazilian musical and cultural experience. We accomplish this goal through arts education and live performances. Our distinct form of musical expression and cultural heritage from Salvador da Bahia is open to all individuals regardless of experience or background.
Description
We are an Afro-Brazilian community drumming group that teaches people to drum regardless of background or experience. We also perform at community and private events positively impacting our communities with the power of music, self-empowerment, and artistic expression.
